Whirlpool Galaxy (M51, NGC 5194) is a spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici. Distance 2300 ± 4 million light-years. Luminous 8.4 mag Visibility diameter 11.0′
There is a tree on the north side and the visibility is poor, so I waited until it became high before taking the picture. I am very interested in the difference between the fine spiral structure and the accompanying nebula. There are two small spindle-shaped galaxies to the north of the nebula. 45 cm newtonian
