The Great Magellanic Nebula was detected with binoculars from Bantayan Island (approximately 11 ° N) north of Cebu Island. Since the altitude is as high as 9 degrees, the sky in the south is dark and good transparency and it can be observed on Cebu Island if it can be seen to the low sky.
The bright star in the upper left is Canopus.
