大マゼラン星雲はセブ島の北、バンタヤン島（約北緯11度）からしっかり双眼鏡で捉えた。高度は9度と結構高く上るので南の空が暗く透明度が良く、低空まで良く見える所であればセブ島では見えることが分かった。左上の明るい星がカノープス。
The Great Magellanic Nebula was detected with binoculars from Bantayan Island (approximately 11 ° N) north of Cebu Island. Since the altitude is as high as 9 degrees, the sky in the south is dark and good transparency and it can be observed on Cebu Island if it can be seen to the low sky.
The bright star in the upper left is Canopus.
