Astronomical observatory

The 45 cm equatorial mount is as easy to store as a covered wagon, and I’m worried about this typhoon! , The appearance in the daytime is poor, but it is divided into the main observer.

Subaru Telescope( 2017-08-24)

Subaru Telescope( 2017-08-24) This is a commemorative image of three people (Mr. Tomioka, myself, and Mr. Ishii) when they visited the 8m Subaru Telescope on the summit of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii on the way back from the total solar eclipse observation in the United States. All three were overwhelmed by the size. Its blue color is also wonderful, like Tetsujin 28-go. I was able to see it at a good time.

From successive magnifying planetary photography devices

From successive magnifying planetary photography devices 1 was in the 1980s, and it was difficult to use a commercially available device, so I asked Mr. Kawakami from Gunma to make it. Made of brass, connect the close-up ring and adjust the synthetic FL (F / 100-250). I miss the bright finder of the Nikon F2 at that time. 2 is a magnifying image device made by Borg, but I didn’t use it much. 3 is the device of the 45 cm reflector CMOS camera (ADC may not be used) that is currently used, and contains XP 24 mm.

Telescope transformation

Change of self-made 45cm newtonian oblique mirror adjustment screw. The previous work oblique mirror correction screw had a bending bend in the knob, which was not easy to use. So, this time, I replaced it with a 6mm diameter wheel set with a ball pushed into the tip. A hexagon wrench was attached to the bolt head with an epoxy bond to the overall length and knob, and a vinyl tube finish was used to make the wrench easier to operate. Since the four are made the same height, they interfere a little, but the angle of turning can be finer than the previous work, and it can be firmly fixed!

Additional ultra wide-angle electronic viewfinder

Additional ultra wide-angle electronic viewfinder Attach a 3 cm and 8 cm viewfinder to the self-made 45 cm newtonian telescope and put it in the field of view of the telescope before the automatic introduction setting. After the automatic installation is set, it will be done on the personal computer without using it. Since a long FL is required when shooting a planet, an electronic viewfinder with an ASI174MM attached to a 6 cm (FL / 420 mm) refraction and PHD2 are used together. Since it is a telescope mounted by force, tracking of the equatorial mount is not good, and it is necessary to monitor it with a handbox during planetary imaging. Planet imaging is also convenient with auto-guide. It seems that auto guide can be done with Firecapture, but I don’t use it because it’s not working well. This time, while organizing the equipment, the DMK camera and […]

Pillar stand

The other day, I got a pillar stand from friend. This stand is for Nikon’s 12cm binoculars and is tall. The pillar stand of the JP equatorial mount of C14 that I used so far is low, and I looked into it with a difficult to watch on Jupiter and Saturn, so I replaced it with this high pillar stand. I 1orderd it and had it processed with a tapping screw. After processing paint, I replaced the low pillars with Nikon pillars and it was ready to use everything. The height of the equatorial mount has increased, making it easier to see low planets, but when viewed from the side, C14 telescope over from the slit. The storage fits sideways (laughs)!

Telescope remodeling

Completed the thermometer with additional fan modifications (two 8 cm fans on the cylinder tip, one 5 cm fan on the cell side, two 8 cm fans) to stabilize the C14 in-cylinder airflow and mirror temperature. .. The 8 cm USB fan, which can adjust the fan speed, has less vibration, so the wind power seems to be weak. I want to see Jupiter when it’s clear sky!

Add fan

At that time, the old C14 used on Cebu Island had a hole in the cell part of the butt and a 5 cm fan was embedded to take a picture of Jupiter. There are two in IN and one in OUT. This time, we will add two 8 cm square USB supply fans and a temperature sensor to the tip of the cylinder. Which is the best arrangement for the wind direction of the fans as a whole? I’m thinking, so please teach me!

My equipment.

It’s about my equipment. The inner diameter of the oblique mirror bracket and tip ring of the 45 cm barrel has been increased to prevent eclipse. The 4-screw is not easy to operate, but it is good for working in the dark! The optical axis looks like this! The F-4 Newton is small. The red dot on the optical axis image is offset, 9 mm to the left. Align with the cross line collimator, and finally drive in with a star image.
